Offset from the rest of Europe by a channel that many have tried to cross, they harbor (pun not intended) immense history, subtle diversity, and endearing eccentricities. These are the British Isles — comprised largely of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) and Ireland, not to mention the smaller six thousands isles surrounding! From the mystical mounds of Stonehenge to the magic bustle of Edinburgh and Belfast, these places — so geographically close and yet set so apart in many ways — are longstanding travel favorites. This week, we want our community to share the paths they’ve taken through the Isles, where you’ve left (or found) pieces of yourself, and — frankly — whether haggis is worth the hassle.
