This week’s challenge theme is #PPRemotePlaces! Over half the world’s population lives in urban settlements. While there’s nothing quite like the life and light of the city, there’s also nothing like the peace and rejuvenation of solitude. Where do you go to get away?

We’ll be joined by guest judges @georgetheexplorer and @j.a.y._daley who are no strangers to straying off the beaten path. Follow the steps below to join in the fun:

Guidelines:

  1. Post or re-post photos/videos according to your interpretation of the theme between Tuesday, October 17th and 11:59am EST on Sunday, October 22nd*.
  2. Tag @passionpassport and #PPRemotePlaces in your caption (if in the comments, we may miss it).
  3. Tell us a story with your caption. How did you discover the spot? Were you utterly alone? What draws you to these remote places?
  4. Check the sample below and get creative with your entries!

*NOTE: Entries must be posted or re-posted (i.e. you cannot simply ‘tag’ an older photo/video) from a public account during the challenge period. Those posted from private accounts and/or posted outside of the challenge period will NOT be considered eligible for feature.

We’ll announce the winner and honorable mentions Monday, October 23rd on our Instagram feed based on the guest judges’ scoring of Quality of ImageQuality of Caption, and Creativity/Interpretation of the Theme.

Three Polar Bears Walking in a Line in Svalbard, Norway

The real beauty of Svalbard is not only the polar bears. It is that feeling of being in pure, unadulterated wilderness. There aren’t many places on earth where you can have that anymore. // @passionpassport #PPRemotePlaces
