For @passionpassport‘s #PPNight challenge // This shot was 99% luck. I, along with most LA photographers, knew that the super moonrise would line up perfectly from Baldwin Hills. I also knew I wanted to capture the shot as the moon was still partially obscured by the San Gabriel Mountains. But what makes this image even better is that a helicopter decided to fly right across the moon at the perfect time. The one aspect of the photo that makes it super unique is the one I couldn’t plan for. Sometimes you have to just be there and be ready to shoot, and the rest falls into your lap.
