Part of the magic of travel is getting a glimpse into how others live. This week’s #PPHousePortrait2 Instagram challenge is all about capturing different residences — from urban high-rise apartments to remote igloos of ice — which often have just as much character as their inhabitants.

We’re thrilled to be joined by guest judges @aprendizdeamelie, @liolaliola, @raphtravels, and @sejkko who can’t wait to see where your entries take us! Check their feeds for inspiration and follow the guidelines below to tell your story.

Guidelines:

  1. Post or re-post photos/videos according to your interpretation of the theme between Tuesday, January 30th and 11:59am EST on Sunday, February 4th*.
  2. Tag @passionpassport and #PPHousePortrait2 in your caption (if in the comments, we may miss it).
  3. Take us into the moment with you by sharing what caught your eye about this home and what you inferred about those who live there.
  4. Check the sample below, get creative, and get going!

*NOTE: Entries must be posted or re-posted (i.e. you cannot simply ‘tag’ an older photo/video) from a public account during the challenge period. Those posted from private accounts and/or posted outside of the challenge period will NOT be considered eligible for feature.

We’ll announce the winner and honorable mentions Monday, February 5th on our Instagram feed based on the guest judges’ scoring of Quality of Image, Quality of Caption, and Creativity/Interpretation of the Theme.

For @passionpassport‘s #PPHousePortrait2 challenge // Every morning brought a new and incredible show: the sun would rise differently every day, the sky would be a different color each morning. That experience — being huddled up in the frigid morning air, sipping coffee and watching the sun ascend over the jagged mountains of Patagonia — was a special way to start each day and one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
