Every traveler knows that meeting and getting acquainted with a new destination can be a process, and the first twenty-four hours are often the most telling. For this week’s #PPFirstStop Instagram challenge, we’re asking about the first things you do when reaching a new destination or when hosting a first-time visitor to your hometown — that vital moment of “getting to know you” after arrival.
The frequent or well-seasoned travelers may have a settling-in ritual that begins with unpacking. The ambitious may head straight for the landmark attractions. The foodie may head straight for a café/restaurant, and the directionally-challenged may hail a taxi the moment they step off the plane. Whatever your inclination or stratagem, we can’t wait to see your answer to: What’s your #PPFirstStop?
- Post a photo/video that fits this week’s challenge theme and mention @passionpassport and #PPFirstStop in your caption (if in the comments, we may miss it)*;
- Submit as many entries as you like between Tuesday, May 10th and 11:59am EST on Sunday, May 15th*;
- Include a brief write-up (3-5 sentences) in your caption telling us how your entry relates to the theme and why it’s personally significant to you; and
- Entries will be evaluated by guest judges based on Quality of Photo, Quality of Caption, Creativity/Interpretation of the Theme, and Following Instructions. Stay tuned for the winner and honorable mentions to be announced Monday, May 16th on our Instagram feed.
*NOTE: Entries must be posted or reposted from a public account during the challenge period. You cannot simply ‘tag’ an older photo/video. Those posted from private accounts and/or posted outside of the challenge period will not be considered eligible.
Morocco was love at first bite. The warmth of a fluffy melloui bread, the delicate sweetness of Rif mountain honey, and the kick of refreshing mint tea have stayed with me long after I’ve left the country. / @passionpassport #PPFirstStop
