“Las Olmecas (first people) and Las Zapotecas had it right when they perched themselves high above the beautiful valley of Oaxaca. We were in town to visit family and see the Guelaguetza where each of the eight regions of the state dance in traditional dress and share gifts with the crowd. Such societal generosity and sharing shone through while meeting this part of my husband’s family; they are incredibly warm people who found ways to give us gifts and be thoughtful throughout the entire week.”
