This week we teamed up with Rail Europe to give away a Eurail Pass valued at $500 for your next trip to Europe! We wanted to see your memories of train travel and hear how they brought your adventures to life — whether through meeting a fellow passenger, watching the scenery pass by, or just enjoying the old-world charm of the locomotive.
Congratulations to this week’s honorable mentions (left to right, starting top-left): @leahschmidt86, @q.rios, @liz__bautista, @tinyhumanpaws, @chesterhuang, @elensham, @travelswithmyphone, @myalaskanlife, and @_naijam_.
Congratulations to this week’s potential GRAND PRIZE winner @monicacate whose photo and write-up are below:
“Whether I was conversing with passengers using only hand gestures and a Rick Steve’s phrasebook or sprinting through the metro tunnels of Paris to catch my train to Marseilles, I’ve never had as much fun — and left with better stories to tell — than when I traveled by train through Europe. This particular view was captured on the last few minutes of my train trip to Switzerland. The solitary icicle caught my eye as I took in the breathtaking mountain view. For tourists like me, traveling by train offers a welcome respite from the miles of walking and sightseeing, while still allowing us to see and experience new things in a foreign country: all from a window seat.”
Rail Europe combines the maps, schedules and fares for over 50 different train companies across Europe, creating one stop to plan and book your European rail travel.
