There’s nothing more beautiful than catching the first rays of the day. From backlit skylines in the Big Apple to yawning camels in Morocco, we loved sharing that first cup of coffee with you for this past week’s Instagram challenge #PPSunrise!
In fact, we loved it so much that we had to ask guest judges (and light lovers) @cestchristine and @kylehouck to help us sort through your entries.
Congratulations to this week’s Instagram challenge honorable mentions (moving left to right, starting top-left): @jerricatan, @ameliaroblin, @georginatwong, @chandhi, @nyalitm, @leparfumdubonheur, @ervanfahren, @imcolorfulinside, and @mavi_sun.
Congratulations to this week’s Instagram potential winner @nickseymourphoto who will receive a 16×16 inch canvas print and whose entry is below:
This was a really memorable morning. It’s the first time I’d gotten up for a sunrise in a long while, and the journey up in a taxi blaring cantopop, with views of the city and South Island creeping through at every corner, just reminded me of how much I love this city.
Once I reached the top, it was a race to the spot I wanted to shoot, but it was also seriously humid and cloudy. With the lens constantly fogging, I was so lucky to have the clouds shift off Victoria Peak in time for a beautiful sunrise. People always say HK is one of those cities that never sleeps, but on this morning the city felt totally still.
