All we had was a 20-year-old map and a goal: the Eisse. Balancing the backpacks, we were trying not to fall. The slope was scary, yet it was beautiful scenery to look at every time we stopped for a second.

With the air getting thinner and our bodies getting weaker, we were in pain with every step. We were at the ends of our rope when we arrived at the snow line.
