Community Manager
Passion Passport is looking for a Community Manager. This is a full-time role, and the ideal candidate may have experience working in a start-up, with a background or focus in journalism, social media and digital marketing.
We are a geographically independent team. The ideal candidate can work independently to meet deadlines and define priorities and is based in North America. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Main Responsibilities:
Community:
- Design community-based initiatives to increase participation and brand awareness for Passion Passport
- Stay abreast of travel trends and information in order to secure timely features on the blog
- Oversee Passion Passport social media channels, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Tumblr, and more
Editorial:
- Liaise with: key community members, ambassadors (professional photographers, videographers, writers), brands and tourism boards, as well as other professionals within the travel industry
- Source contributions from ambassadors and contributing community members
- Work with contributors to prepare their submissions for publication
General:
- Be available for weekly team calls
- Be available for infrequent in-person meetings in New York City
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to balance sourcing content and editing with strict deadlines
- Quick responder: Always on email and social media channels
- Live and breathe online; bordering on neurotic checker of Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc., as well as travel blogs and news outlets
- Firm understanding of cultivating community via social media
- Background or focus in digital marketing, journalism, editing, and/or social media.
- Knowledgeable and comfortable working in a WordPress site
- Leadership ability and the willingness to take initiative and be versatile is key
- Possess excellent time management skills – can manage and perform multiple tasks in an efficient manner
- Excellent at solving problems with strong attention to detail
- Keen interest and knowledge of the travel industry
- Dedication to the organization’s values and culture
- Bonus: Experience in design and knowledge of photography
Designer and Developer
Passion Passport is looking for a Designer and Developer to work on a web and mobile revamp of the Passion Passport website and join us as a core team member.
The ideal candidate would be available for 10-15 hours per week and for online weekly meetings with the Founder and Marketing Coordinator, as well as the possibility of in-person meetings in the New York City area. Compensation commensurate with experience.
The site is currently run on WordPress and key initial projects that would be addressed are:
- Homepage redesign & user experience
- Mobile version of site
- New design for featured content (photo essays, articles, wanderlust stories)
- The Bucket List Initiative (travel grant program) UX and Page flow
There is a significant amount of upfront project work that we would hope would lead to a long-term role with the company. Interest in travel and familiarity with digital marketing highly desirable

- Mobile Responsive Design
- Information Architecture
