There is something to be said about the ability to admire something, from a different perspective, whether it’s from afar, or simply observing from a different angle. The simple act of looking up can often reveal something completely unexpected and seemingly unnoticed, turning that moment into a lasting impression engraved in our memories for a lifetime.

For this week’s #PPUpAndAbove Instagram challenge, we want you to share those moments of discovery and awe, with a focus on what’s above you and below you. Whether it’s the rewarding birds-eye view after the countless steps to the top of the lookout, or intricate details of a structure revealed when you looked up. Or maybe you picked up a drone recently — that’s cool, show us what you’ve captured with it!

We’re joined by guest judges @madebyvadim, @mervinkaye, and @nk7! Head to their feeds for inspiration, and follow the instructions below for a chance to be featured on our feed:

Instructions:

  1. Post as many photo/video entries as you like between Tuesday, July 26th and 11:59pm EST on Saturday, July 30th;
  2. Mention #PPUpAndAbove and @passionpassport in your caption (if in the comments, we may miss it);
  3. Include a brief write-up (3-5 sentences) in your caption telling us how your entry relates to the theme and why it’s personally significant to you; and
  4. Stay tuned for the winner and honorable mentions to be announced Sunday, July 31st on our Instagram feed based on Quality of Image, Quality of Caption, and Creativity/Interpretation of the Theme.

NOTE: Entries must be posted or re-posted from a public account during the challenge period. You cannot simply ‘tag’ an older photo/video. Those posted from private accounts and/or posted outside of the challenge period will NOT be considered eligible.

This place was not new to me. Countless times I’ve passed with an empty gaze on my daily commute. But as the drone buzzed higher into the evening sky and away from the bustling noise of the city folks rushing back home, I began to gain a new perspective, falling in love with the beauty of my hometown for the first time. / #PPUpAndAbove @passionpassport
