White Symmetrical Building in Hong Kong

There’s nothing quite like seeing a city from afar — tracing its jagged edges, admiring the tetris-like stacks of buildings, and locating the tallest point.

For this week’s #PPSkyline Instagram challenge, we want to see what you’ve discovered in your own city or encountered on your travels.

Many destinations across the globe are recognized for their skylines; a snapshot from a distance of the substance that make up its urban streets. Whether it’s a bridge that gives you a clear sight from a distance, a park bench with the best vista of the city, or that skyscraper lookout with the birds-eye view; share your own unique perspective of these metropolises.

Be sure to stop by the feeds of guest judges @edwardkb and @mervinkaye to see their interpretations of the theme, and follow the instructions below to be eligible to be featured on our feed!

Instructions:

  1. Post a photo/video that fits this week’s challenge theme and mention @passionpassport and #PPSkyline in your caption (if in the comments, we may miss it)*;
  2. Submit as many entries as you like between Tuesday, May 3rd and 11:59am EST on Sunday, May 8th*;
  3. Include a brief write-up (3-5 sentences) in your caption telling us how your entry relates to the theme and why it’s personally significant to you; and
  4. The winner and honorable mentions will be scored by guest judges based on Quality of Photo, Quality of Caption, Creativity/Interpretation of the Theme, and Following Instructions; and will be announced on Monday, May 9th on our Instagram feed.

*NOTE: Entries must be posted or reposted from a public account during the challenge period. You cannot simply ‘tag’ an older photo/video. Those posted from private accounts and/or posted outside of the challenge period will not be considered eligible.

Skyscrapers in Fog in Chicago, Illinois

Chicago, Illinois

I remember seeing this fog roll lazily in from Lake Michigan, and I remember being mesmerized; from ninety stories up, my eyes followed its fluid progress as it blanketed the downtown in a soft, thick veil. / @passionpassport #PPSkyline
