We all face bumps and challenges on the road. The question is: what #PPLessonLearned did you take away from the experience?

Maybe you ran out of data, and now you carry physical maps. Maybe your camera died, so you bring along a sketchbook. Or perhaps you hit a literal bump on the read and finally figured out how to change a flat tire.

Whatever it is, we’ll be joined by guest judges @peapookachoo and @phil.martin, so head to their feeds for inspiration, and follow the instructions below for a chance to be featured:

Instructions:

  1. Post as many photos/videos relating to the theme as you like between Tuesday, March 14th and 11:59pm EST on Saturday, March 18th;
  2. Mention @passionpassport and #PPLessonLearned in your caption (if in the comments, we may miss it);
  3. Include a brief write-up (3-5 sentences) in your caption telling us about a time you had a misfortune or made a mistake while traveling and what it taught you; and
  4. Stay tuned for the winner and honorable mentions to be announced Monday, March 20th on our Instagram feed based on our guest judges’ scoring of Quality of Image, Quality of Caption, and Creativity/Interpretation of the Theme.

*NOTE: Entries must be posted or re-posted from a public account during the challenge period. You cannot simply ‘tag’ an older photo/video. Those posted from private accounts and/or posted outside of the challenge period will NOT be considered eligible.

Man Wading in Icy Water in Jökulsárlón, Iceland
Photo by: @ryannealcordwell Jökulsárlón, Iceland

Though it may seem extreme in condition, this was a calming chapter of our journey, whereas other tangents took us over snow laden terrains, relentlessly winding trails, and through blisteringly dark winds. I’ll never remember this trip as easy, but I’ve learned that the stories worth telling never are. / @passionpassport #PPLessonLearned
