This week is all about where math and travel meet. Join our #PPGeometry Instagram challenge! Ever hear of the golden ratio? Geometry is behind all of the world’s greatest structures: the Pyramid of Giza, the Great Wall of China, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia…so take out your camera and protractor because we’re looking for shapes — especially repeating shapes — of all kinds!

We’re thrilled to be joined by guest judges @aljvd and @ericmueller who can’t wait to see where your entries take us! Check their feeds for inspiration and follow the guidelines below to tell your story.

Guidelines:

  1. Post or re-post photos/videos according to your interpretation of the theme between Tuesday, March 13th and 11:59am EST on Sunday, March 18th*.
  2. Tag @passionpassport and #PPGeometry in your caption (if in the comments, we may miss it).
  3. Take us into the moment with you by sharing 3-4 sentences about your experience.
  4. Check the sample below, get creative, and get going!

*NOTE: Entries must be posted or re-posted (i.e. you cannot simply ‘tag’ an older photo/video) from a public account during the challenge period. Those posted from private accounts and/or posted outside of the challenge period will NOT be considered eligible for feature.

We’ll announce the winner and honorable mentions Monday, March 19th on our Instagram feed based on the guest judges’ scoring of Quality of ImageQuality of Caption, and Creativity/Interpretation of the Theme.

Stairs in Panna Meen Ka Kund in Jaipur, India

For @passionpassport‘s #PPGeometry challenge // While I was doing my research before visiting Jaipur, Amber Fort was on the top of all the lists that I saw. But this part of the fort complex — Panna Meen Ka Kund — was rarely mentioned, so I made sure to ask my guide about it so we could stop during the tour. Jaipur is a hectic town, and this was the only oasis of solitude I found during my two-day trip there. I can only imagine how nice it would be if, and when, it ever rains.
