Horses Running in Western Australia

For @passionpassport‘s #PPBlankCanvas challenge // This image came about through an amazing amalgamation of luck. I’d spotted the salt lake that these Brumbies were on from 39,000 feet during a flight from Alice Springs to Perth. In that moment, I resolved to return. I managed to get the GPS coordinates from the flight attendant after she spoke with the pilot on my behalf, and when I got home, I started doing my research. As it turned out, a good mate of mine was running the station nearby. I rang him and he happened to have a helicopter. So, I rang another mate, and the two of us chartered a plane and headed to a remote part of the Gibson and Great Victoria deserts. From there, the three of us went up in the R22 helicopter. En route, we spotted these stunning creatures and followed them for about 25 miles. Needless to say, it was a story for the books.
