We feature some of the brightest Instagram storytellers in the Passion Passport community through our Instagram Spotlight series. This week, Andrea Nunez (@andreannu) shares her muted, yet colorful perspective of places around the world.

LISBON, PORTUGAL

Whenever I explore a city for the first time, I inevitably take the classic tourist photos (such as the historic Lisbon tram), but I also look for random local sceneries, like a rack of clothes in front of a facade. I always look forward to finding those unique aspects in my travel destinations.

We can all agree that Lisbon’s color is yellow! I found the bright hue on every street and in every corner, and it blended so well with the rest of the tones of this beautiful city.

TULUM, MEXICO

One of the best feelings in the world is waking up by the beach to the sound of the sea with no one else in sight. The first time I went to Tulum, a storm prevented me from visiting all the cafés and shops. But the second time, I was pleasantly surprised by how colorful the town was! You can find all the best spots along one road (Boca Paila) and enjoy a healthy smoothie while admiring a stunning view of the beach in one of the many seaside hotels.

CADAQUÉS, SPAIN

My husband’s family is from Cadaqués, a little town near Barcelona. I was excited to visit for the first time and learn more about my husband’s roots. The town itself is magical — full of white and blue facades and little shops to get lost in. We only went for the day, but, given the hundreds of images I shot there, you’d think we stayed for an entire weekend at least.

NEW YORK CITY

Since moving to New York City almost nine months ago, I have developed a crush on facades (my Instagram feed is full of them!). For that reason, my favorite neighborhood is Greenwich Village. It’s so picturesque and much quieter than other parts of Manhattan. I live in Brooklyn, but every time I go to Manhattan, I can’t resist visiting this lovely part of NYC to find a new facade or restaurant to capture. This quaint neighborhood will never cease to amaze me.

MIAMI, FLORIDA

I’ve always traveled to Miami with my family for one sole purpose: shopping. But since moving to the U.S., I’ve wanted to explore this city in a less touristy way. I try to capture the small details each time I visit.
